Q. Has Dancing Ferret Discs closed up shop?
A. In July of 2008 we became a catalogue label, which means that we no longer release new albums. Existing releases will still be available. For information on new material from DFD artists, you should visit the band's website directly.

Q. Will there be any more releases from DFD?
A. We may re-issue albums that have gone out of print, or albums from elsewhere in the world that were never given a US release. It is likely we will release compilations or special projects from time to time.

Q. Do you accept demo tapes or CDs?
A. We do not. As we are no longer releasing new material nor signing any bands, we do not accept submissions at all.

Q. Do you accept letters or gifts on behalf of your bands?
A. No, we do not. To send something to one of our bands, please visit that band's website for contact information.

Q. Can you offer advice on how to get signed?
A. There are a number of great sites on the internet, and some wonderful books available, that cover this topic in great detail. Generally speaking, the best advice we have is to get out there and play some shows. Self-release a 5-song CD and sell it cheaply ($5). Generate a little buzz on your own. When approaching labels, try to find out the style of music they are releasing and don't waste your time (or theirs) if your music doesn't fit in with their roster.

Q. I own a record label outside the USA - can I license Dancing Ferret titles to release in my country?
A. Generally speaking, no. We prefer direct distribution in most territories. We are always willing to entertain proposals, however, particularly if you are in a territory where English is not a commonly spoken language (e.g. Russia, Japan)

Q. Which stores in my area carry your products?
A. In the US and Canada, you can find our releases at all major chain stores including Hot Topic, Sam Goody, FYE, Best Buy, Newbury Comics, and more. Any well-stocked independent music store will also carry our titles. You can always pick up our titles on amazon.com, or via our preferred online e-tailer, IsoTank Music Mailorder.

In Germany, Austria and Switzerland, most major chains carry our titles, including WOM, Saturn, Media Markt, and others. Many independent music stores, particularly those who specialize in this kind of music, will have our titles. You can always pick up our titles on amazon.de, or for incredibly low prices (thanks to the exchange rate) from IsoTank Music Mailorder.

In the rest of Europe, some chains carry our titles, as do some independent shops and most specialty stores. Some amazon.fr and amazon.co.uk generally stock our titles. All specialty e-tailer shops will carry our titles, although the best prices (thanks to the exchange rate) are at IsoTank Music Mailorder.

In Japan, we recommend buying our titles from CD Shop Gold.
